And she admits she really is living up to the title of her debut album, This Is The Life, which topped the Scottish charts and made it to No2 in the UK album chart.
Weller, with classic hits stretching back 30 years to his days with The Jam, has become a huge fan of Amy's, along with the likes of Sir Elton John. "I felt so privileged to be asked to play with them, so I got them a bottle of Macallan each and they were very appreciative of that." I feel so privileged that people have bought my album. "On the last night, the crew invited me in for drinks and Paul was there with his family and yet he spent so much time talking with us. He posed for so many photographs and my boyfriend kept asking for other ones because his hair didn't look right. "Paul and Steve liking my songs is such a massive compliment. "The song Run will be out as a single next year and we may get him to guest guitar on it and get him out on a tour. He has been on the phone with my manager and we are looking at what we can do together. "He has created so many amazing riffs that everyone knows. I asked if he wanted to play with me live or in the studio and he said both, which is amazing for me because I am such a big Ocean Colour Scene fan. "Steve loved Run so much that he wants to play with me. They had all this gear and we had this little Volkswagen car. "We all loved so many Jam songs, it was weird. "It was such a cozy tour because it was me, my boyfriend and Chris, the guitar tech. "Paul Weller and Steve Cradock watched me every one of the six nights from the side of the stage. They are really talented musicians but we didn't know they would be such down-to-earth people, which makes it so much easier. "All Paul Weller's crew were so nice and took our gear for us each night and were such a help," she said. Hanging out with Weller and his guitarist Steve Cradock, of Ocean Colour Scene, was a dream for Amy. "Then a while later, my boyfriend and I walked in on Paul and Steve singing my song Run and Paul said it was such a beautiful song and that he loved it." I think he was embarrassed when he saw me because he quickly nipped into his dressing room," she said.

It is clear that she can be herself, with plenty of room for her distinctive voice (in the distance she even sounds like Shakira) and Scottish accent. A Curious Thing sounds just as jumpy, catchy and authentic as her debut. From an artistic point of view, there is certainly no cloud … in the sky. The big question with the release of her second CD is whether the young artist can match her own success. In the Netherlands Macdonald was able to receive a platinum record.
